Supervision & Care
While all of our activities are planned with fun in mind, they are designed to encourage growth in each child in a safe and loving enviornment.
Guided by Christian principles, our counselors and other staff are trained to lead children in a camp setting. They are at least 17 years old and must attend our seven-day training course before working at camp. This training is comprehensive and covers topics ranging from health care to leading creative activities. Staff and counselfor undergo thorough screening and background checks.
At no time will your child ever be left unsupervised.
Health Care: Camp Allegheny operates an infirmary to ensure the well-being of your child. At all times, the infirmary is operated by staff, a minimum of two nurses of which one is an RN. All staff complete CPR and First Aid training and, at most, Licensed Practical Nursing degrees. We also operate with a health lodge assistant. All conditions not easily treated are referred to our camp physician in Ellwood City or the Ellwood City Hospital located less than 15 minutes from camp.
